Export incentives, refunds and compliance for Kerala exporters
In short: A. George & Associates works with exporters across Kerala, including seafood, spices, cashew, coir, rubber, food products and engineering goods. We help with IEC and registrations, RoDTEP and duty drawback, GST refunds on exports, tracking of export proceeds, and audits that understand export businesses.
Kerala's exporters run on thin margins, and much of their profit depends on incentives and refunds actually reaching the bank: RoDTEP e-scrips, duty drawback, and GST refunds on exports. Each has its own conditions, declarations and time limits, and a missed declaration in the shipping bill can mean the benefit is lost.
We help exporters claim what they are entitled to, keep foreign exchange compliance in order, and keep the books and audit ready for banks and buyers.
Sound familiar?
"Our RoDTEP scrips and drawback never seem to match what we shipped."
"GST refunds on our exports are stuck and our working capital is squeezed."
"The bank has flagged export bills where payment is overdue."
"We quote prices without knowing what incentives we will actually get."
We help Kerala exporters get paid what they are owed, on time.
What we do for exporters
Registrations
Importer Exporter Code (IEC), registration with export promotion councils where needed, GST registration and the annual Letter of Undertaking (LUT) for exporting without paying IGST.
RoDTEP and drawback
Checking rates for your products, making sure claims are declared in the shipping bill, and reconciling e-scrips and drawback received with shipments. See our article MEIS replaced by RoDTEP.
GST refunds on exports
Refund of IGST paid on exports, or of unutilised input tax credit where exports are made under LUT, with reconciliations and replies to deficiency memos. See GST consultants in Kochi.
Export proceeds and FEMA
Tracking realisation of export proceeds within the permitted time, following up outstanding bills with the bank, and handling extensions or write-offs where needed.
Costing and pricing
Export costing that includes incentives, freight, insurance and currency, so quotes reflect the real margin.
Audit and bank reporting
Statutory audit, stock statements and drawing power for packing credit, and reporting to banks. See services for manufacturers.

Frequently asked questions
What is RoDTEP and do I qualify?
RoDTEP refunds embedded taxes and levies on exported goods, at rates notified for each product. Eligibility and rates depend on your product and type of unit, and have been revised by notification, so we check the current schedule for your goods.
How do I get GST refunded on exports?
Either by paying IGST on the export and getting it refunded, usually through the shipping bill, or by exporting under LUT and claiming a refund of unutilised input tax credit. The right route depends on your business.
What happens if export proceeds are not received on time?
Export proceeds must be realised within the time allowed under foreign exchange rules. If not, the bank reports the bill as outstanding. Extensions or write-offs can be applied for in genuine cases, and we help prepare them.
Can you help with packing credit and bank stock statements?
Yes. We prepare and review stock statements and drawing power calculations, and carry out audits banks require.
Which exporters do you work with?
Exporters of seafood, spices, cashew, coir, rubber, food products and engineering goods across Kerala, as well as IT and software exporters.
